Friday Downtown Ames

Friday Eric and I went downtown with Rob Maren and their kids for their snow magic kickoff. We decorated cookies looked at gingerbread houses and Greyson got his face painted. We all rode the train as well. Rob almost got stuck in the train. It was funny.

The election and my thoughts

I know everyone is probably getting tired of the political posts, but here is my only post I'll make on the election results. In terms of everything that was voted for last night, I am extremely happy with the results. The people have spoken.

In Maine, Maryland, and Washington, they have said, you will not deny a group of people their rights, and Minnesota weighed in by turning down a law that would deny a group of people their rights.

In Colorado and Washington, the people said, we challenge your law, and the state governments have stated they will continue forward with the issue. State governments are challenging the federal government. Our political system, while in need of some updating, continues to work.

In Iowa, we showed that political bullying will not disuade us from keeping a judge, whom values the rights of the people, in office.

Puerto Rico voted to change their relationship with the US with a majority of those saying statehood was the answer. All of this is progress forward.

No matter if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or Third Party, as long as we continue to vote and let our voices be heard, and elect persons into office that will work with the people and for the people and with each other to accomplish the former, we will progress into the future and continue to show the world why we are the best nation in the world, that freedom continues to ring, and that the American people will not be silenced.
