The election and my thoughts
I know everyone is probably getting tired of the political posts, but here is my only post I'll make on the election results. In terms of everything that was voted for last night, I am extremely happy with the results. The people have spoken.
In Maine, Maryland, and Washington, they have said, you will not deny a group of people their rights, and Minnesota weighed in by turning down a law that would deny a group of people their rights.
In Colorado and Washington, the people said, we challenge your law, and the state governments have stated they will continue forward with the issue. State governments are challenging the federal government. Our political system, while in need of some updating, continues to work.
In Iowa, we showed that political bullying will not disuade us from keeping a judge, whom values the rights of the people, in office.
Puerto Rico voted to change their relationship with the US with a majority of those saying statehood was the answer. All of this is progress forward.
No matter if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or Third Party, as long as we continue to vote and let our voices be heard, and elect persons into office that will work with the people and for the people and with each other to accomplish the former, we will progress into the future and continue to show the world why we are the best nation in the world, that freedom continues to ring, and that the American people will not be silenced.

Bevin Posting: tut tut it looks like rain
...and rain it did. So Eric and I did fun things inside, like watch the olympics! One night we went over to Rob and Maren's to watch the olympics and play some board games. I made gold, silver, bronze and friendship medals. We competed in olympic Clue. Rob dominated the competition to take home the gold medal, Eric was close behind for the silver. I earned the bronze medal. Maren enjoyed our friendship and camaraderie. Fun was had by all.

Bevin posting: MY GLOVES ARE ON!
So after the first weekend of coaching authorization classes Eric and I are First Aid Certified. The First aid videos were pretty gruesome but it was kind of fun practicing all of the first aid skills. We'll be ready if something happens on our camping trip, God forbid. Eric made some awesome friends working in a basketball coaches' group and even heard of a few jobs in the area. I can't jump in just yet because I'm student teaching in the Spring and that breaks some rule with the teacher's unions or something, but I'm on the lookout for dance, cheer or swimming coaching jobs when I graduate. Fingers crossed!

Bevin Posting: Hodge podge of stuff
Got my dress today and it's GORRRRGGEEEEOOOOUUUUSSS. Now that my class is done, I'll have more time for reading and blogging and whatnot. Eric's making a videogame where you're a white blood cell and you eat germs and then there's things that kill you (great description, eh?). It's almost done, I think. We got an invitation for Eric's brother's wedding, and we're pretty pumped for that. This weekend and next are going to be filled with a coaching authorization class for both of us and work for me on friday night.

Eric Posting: Updates
I just have not had time to work further on the comic project. I would like to do more, but between work and wedding planning stuff (we're trying to get a lot in this summer since we will both be busy next spring right before the wedding), and doing things with friends, and Diablo 3 coming out, I just have not had a chance to get to it. I started working more on an actual picture, but I also didn't like where it was going, so I'm trying to figure out what I want for style and where I need to go.
In terms of hanging out with friends, Bevin and I had a wonderful time on a double date with Rob and Maren Watkins. We just played some board games and had some wonderful conversations, but our next outing will be at Perfect Games, and it should be awesome.
Our pictures from our engagement photo session have come back and they look nice. We made our save the date template and have ordered these and our invites. I will post the save the date on here once we have sent them out and we are sure that everyone we want to get one, has received one. Thanks to Chip Wickham and Art Deojay for their help in getting this mission accomplished.

Eric Posting: Mega Dane vs Micro Puppy
As Bevin mentioned in the previous post, we finally have come up with a concept for our comic. Many thanks to those at our engagement party who were enamored with the size of a great dane, and the comparative size of a chihuahua that showed up later.
As the title suggests the comic will be Mega Dane vs Micro Puppy. I did some initial sketches to try to figure out what exactly I wanted to do with the concept. I simply drew a great dane super-sized compared to it's surroundings, which seems like a great idea, but thinking about possible story concepts, I think we would have run into a lot of issues.
I worked and considered what else would make something mega. How could Mega Dane be mega and yet be enveloped into the story in better form. That's when it hit me. Mega Dane isn't super-sized, his finances are super-sized. He's a mega billionaire. From there, I created another concept sketch. I've scanned it in to give those viewers possibly waiting on the edges of their seats for substance, a chance to look into our creative process as we go. I do plan to have a better rendered version later on as I get more time to work on it. For now, here is the concept:
I will also have a concept for micro puppy coming hopefully within the next few days, as time permits me to work on the concept ideas.

Bevin Posting: Engagement Party
Even though it was storming the night before, the weather was beautiful for our engagement party. A lot of people showed up and we ate a TON of food. We even got a picnic set from Eric's boss. All in all, it was a really good time. Eric and I got an idea for a comic we're going to try and do from Eric's coworker's dog. MEGADANE vs. Micropup. We'll see how it goes.
Today we played our last game of broomball. The ice was super slippery and our whole team fell at one point or another. We lost, but we still had a good time. Now Eric is drawing up some sketches for the comic. We'll put them up as soon as we have them scanned.

Eric and I made a blog! Hooray! We're working on a comic so that'll be up here soon. Not much currently going on, just making the final preparations for our engagement party on Sunday.
